When people ask me about good burger in Kuwait, I always recommend Johnny Rockets. Few days ago we decided to have lunch at Johnny Rockets in the Avenues. This Johnny Rockets is located in the food court at the Avenues mall. As soon as we arrived the more and more people soon followed. The place was crowded.
What I like about Johnny Rockets is the old fashioned decor. The decor is done like an old 50's restaurant. The place was filled with people and the employees looked overwhelmed. They made a smiley faces with the ketchup. The service seemed a bit slow, maybe because the place was crowded.
The menu is limited to sandwiches, burgers, chicken fingers, fries, onion rings, chili, shakes, drinks and salads.
They had different burgers on their menu but I decided to go with the St. Louis burger, I have tried many burgers and still my favorite is the St. Louis burger. Our onion rings and French fries were served first in about 10 minutes from ordering. The chili cheese fries was delicious. The fries and onion rings were hot, crispy and not greasy at all. They always offer free soda refills, and they make good, thick milk shakes.
My burger arrived 10-15 minutes after placing my order. It tasted like it came right off of the BBQ and was really big and delicious. The beef tasted really fantastic and was cooked perfectly.
I didn't have to grab the straw myself .We were offered straws from an old-fashioned straw holder by the waiter. The Strawberry shake tasted just like the home made shakes. The cooking area was at the back of the restaurant. Everything looked clean. The service was fantastic.
The cost of St Louis burger is KD2.150. Although the serving size did not justify the price, the meal is a filling; but a little expensive for what you’re getting. However, when you take into account the quality, service and atmosphere it is worth it.
I definitely enjoyed my Johnny Rockets experience at the Avenues while my favorite Johnny Rockets is in Salmiya, Salem Al-Mubarak St
