My Favorite Comfort Food…

Sometimes I’m not in the mood for anything different. I just want some good comfort food. My favorite 4 comfort foods are:

1. Pinkberry
Recently I tried Pinkberry and found their style of frozen yogurt to be quite good. The yogurt comes in 3 flavors – original, green tea and pomegranate. The more popular options tend to be the fresh seasonal fruits like, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. I tried all flavors and each of them is delicious. You can either sit at a table in the middle of the Avenues mall or walk through the Avenues mall trying to eat it before it melts.

2. Baskin Robbins
I LOVE Baskin Robbins' Ice Cream. If you are looking for a great scoop of ice cream, you really can't go wrong with Baskin Robbins. Other treats, besides the cones and scoops, are the sundaes, banana splits and specialty drinks. You can also choose from a variety of delicious toppings such as, chocolate fudge, caramel, crushed nuts. Baskin Robbins always offers so many flavors and also allows free spoon tastings to reassure you of your choice. I also enjoy mouth-watering milkshakes. Prices however are slightly above most local ice cream places and the portions tend to be small.

3. Danderma - Arabic Ice Cream
Is a totally different experience from the rich western ice creams. What’s I like about this comfort food it’s quite light and gummy in texture. It actually stretches a bit as you spoon it. The ice cream came in long cylinders and the man would cut off a slice, and then jam it into our cups. My favorite is the pistachio flavor, it usually topped with crushed pistachio.
