
Most parents worry that their kids don't eat enough vegetables and fruits, which are an important part of a healthy diet. Lots of minerals and nutrients are found in vegetables and fruits, they probably the most important food your child for a healthy body weight and prevention of disease.
Vegetables and fruit don't have cholesterol and are usually:
• high in fiber
• low in fat
• low in calories
• high in vitamins and minerals
When children get into school they will be probably around kids eating unhealthy food .Start talking with them about healthy food and what unhealthy food can do to their body. Teaching them to eat vegetables and fruit not always an easy task, here are some little tips and tricks to get your kids to eat their vegetables and fruit:
• Set a good example by eating your own vegetables and fruit.
• Let your kids pick the vegetables and fruits they want to eat when you go shopping
• Kids love individual servings. Make them their own pizza. Add to it whatever vegetables they like.
• Hide the vegetables in other food. Add zucchini and carrot to spaghetti sauce. The kids won't even notice it. Find foods that your kids already like to eat, like smoothies, muffins, yogurt, etc., and find recipes that allow you to add fruits or vegetables to them,
• Try juicing vegetables and mixing it with fruits. Juicing is a fun way to get important vegetable nutrients.
• Be creative. If your kids are visual, try creating faces or people on their plates with the vegetables .Find fun ways to serve vegetables and fruits to your kid. Instead of giving your child as a gift a basket of candy, give him a basket of fruit you can find great arrangements of fruit at Edible Arrangements
• Add a sauce. Many kids don't like plain vegetables. There are so many different types of sauces on the market. Buy a few different sauces for the children to dip their vegetables in. Try cheese sauce, butter sauce, garlic sauce, sweet and sour sauce,
• Involve them Include your child in the preparation of the foods. Or ask them to help mix a fruit salad; it may actually persuade them it’s worth eating. Let them help you bake, or chop veggies, or mix dough for homemade pizza.
• Kids love any thing sweet .Serve them sweet potatoes, sweet carrot, sweet corn, bananas and dates.
• Try a different vegetable every day and prepare it in different ways. Vegetables can be served, raw, baked, steamed, grilled, in salad or in juice.
