Keeping it Casual - KOTON’s Menswear Autumn/Winter 09

Casual meets smart this season to bring about a refined, stylish look for men. Monochromatic knits are paired with lightweight shiny micro-fibre jackets and dark denims with formal or sports blazers for sophisticated and comfortable outfits that translate well from day to night.

The neatly fitted two button single-breasted jacket, in new tweed or velvet, remains the core-tailoring silhouette for both formal suits and sports jackets or blazers. Combined with narrow cropped trousers, blazers have slightly waisted cuts, shorter proportions and high set pocket placements for a unique take on the classic wardrobe necessity.

Knitwear is an essential part of the collection, teaming up the heavier cocooning sweaters with lighter slim fit versions. Layered and accessorised with long neck-warmers, this cosy feel will bring warmth and comfort to cooler winter days. Key colours this season revolve around monochromatic shades of grey, shades of purple, off white and black.

Winter Getaway
Checked wool jackets and cosy knit sweaters for urban weekends and winter getaways, this theme brings comfort and style together. The key pieces of the collection are checked shirts worn with lightweight sweaters, tweed two button single-breasted jackets worn with jeans, and various t-shirts with winter-inspired prints. Colours include a unique mix of navy, electric blue, shades of brown and camel. Outerwear has a strong presence with defined shoulder and necklines while casual two-in-ones are essential as they are comfortable and easy to wear.

Lightweight, slightly shorter jacket shapes with slim-fit cuts and narrow cropped pants define this collection. Three-piece suits with slim-fitting vests can also be worn with smart jeans for slightly more casual business wear. Narrow neckties with lightweight cardigans further emphasise the slim-fitting theme of the collection and can be worn day or night. Blacks and shades of grey remains a heavy influence in the colour scheme of this collection.
